Senior Engineer, Workshop

About the Job

Supervise the provision of expert technical engineering workshop and static equipment maintenance support to the plant.

Key Accountabilities
- Provide support services for fabrication / machining / welding jobs for minor modifications and up-gradations etc.
- Allocate tasks to staff to ensure optimum utilization of the workshop facility and manpower
- Supervise the activities in the workshop to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently in compliance to quality and approved procedures.
- Initiate and coordinate outsourcing requirements to meet additional workloads and specialized jobs.
- Prepare risks assessments and method of statements for critical activities to facilitate safe operations.
- Coordinate action for replacements or obsolete equipment and develop repair strategies for corrective action.
- Provide technical advice on development proposals involving modifications or additions to existing systems and ensure implementation of Company policies and procedures.
- Develop and optimize the long term Major/Extraordinary maintenance business plan for the jobs under taken by workshop.
- Ensure upkeep of facilities, equipment, tools etc. as per the requirement of the workshop to meet set Company standards and service objectives.
- Initiate/ review material Purchase Requisitions (PR) and participate in the pre-qualification and procurement activities through Technical Review, order finalization and follow up for timely delivery & availability.
- Monitor usage of materials, spares, and consumables to ensure that consumption is consistent with budgeted assumptions.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- At least 8 years of experience in Workshop Maintenance providing support for fabrication, machining, welding jobs
