Senior Financial Analyst

Job description / Role

- Work as the liaison between various Finance teams to ensure continuous process improvements. You'll also own the details - making sure allocations and other inputs are done well as we march towards an IPO.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly reporting including monthly touch points with the COO/CEO, where your work will often be presented.
- Develop ways to describe, measure, and communicate financial performance to regional and global Finance leadership - figure out how to distill operational complexity into easy to understand metrics.
- Sophisticated financial modeling: build models from scratch, improve existing models, break complex models down into components that consolidate - you can do it all
- Work closely with the Senior Finance Management to provide financial insights and assess the company’s overall progress towards its strategic objectives.
- Help manage and drive all budget and forecasting efforts. Crack the whip with your other finance colleagues to get their figures done quickly and well.
- Ownership of the FP&A month end close process
- Drive projects to continuously improve, streamline, and automate various areas of the team’s responsibility. How can we get vital data to our stakeholders even faster? How can we detect operational anomalies quickly and act upon them?
- Monthly close: analyze variances between actuals, forecast, and plan - use insights to iterate on forecasts and create/discuss potential action plans with cross-functional stakeholders
- Process improvement: help us scale / transition from startup to enterprise. Part of this is maturing our planning processes, part is ensuring finance best practices spread through the organization
- Special projects / ad hoc analyses: new initiatives, products, risks and opportunities are constantly arising. You will help to financially evaluate and help drive these important initiatives beyond traditional FP&A on a variety of projects

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics
- A minimum of 5 years in FP&A or Corporate Finance roles but we will consider other candidates if they meet the rest of the requirements
- Exceptional Excel skills: generate efficient, scalable and intuitive models with knowledge of the best practices. You can handle complexity but strive for simplicity
- Systems: working knowledge of enterprise-level financial planning systems; we use TM1 but having used similar systems is fine too
- Attention to detail: consistent with swift and high quality execution. We need to do things quickly and we need to do them well. Striking that balance can be challenging and this should be a strength of yours.
- Excellent communication and people skills: numbers are key, but a business is built with people and you will manage several different stakeholders in finance the strategy and planning function, and beyond
