Job description / Role
A global management consultancy with clients across a 100 countries is looking for a Turkish speaking Senior GL Accountant to be based in Dubai. The role involves being part of the Middle East Hub consisting of 10 legal entities across four countries. You must be fluent in Turkish with experience and knowledge of Turkish tax laws.
Responsibilities:
* Enter/review monthly recurring/one-off journals
* Preparation of month-end process
* Review and enter payroll prepared by HR
* Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliation and account analysis
* Review fixed asset ledger by coordinating with AP team and external book keeping
* Review schedules for reporting of fixed assets
* Preparation of other reports provided to management
* Liaison with internal and external auditors
* Liaison with local statutory accountants
* Monthly, quarterly and annual tax/financial statement filings
* Monitor prepayment schedules and accruals
* Balance sheet submission
* Adhoc reports requested by management
* Interoffice Transactions Review, Entry and Invoicing (including payment & collection)
* Meeting deadlines and compliance to US GAAP as well as local accounting standards
Requirements
* Must be fluent in English and Turkish
* Minimum of 4 years of experience - Big 4 experience is an added advantage
* Higher accounting education, qualified CA (Turkish CA is a preference)
* Understanding of US GAAP accounting standards
* Knowledge of ORACLE and HFM software applications would be preferable, although not mandatory.
* Experience and knowledge is Turkisk tax laws is essential
* Good sense of time management and organization, and team spirit are imperative
