The Role
Senior Interface Design Manager (G3) – Major Exhibition Programme
Reporting to the senior leadership team, responsible for our complete Design Management Interface and integration across projects in a large programme.
This role will oversee the interaction between individual / component projects, linked those with overlapping plots both above and below ground. It will interface with multiple stakeholders in our own team and will require the type of personality and flexibility to suit a complex role.
Responsibility Include
• Organising and Chairing Interface Design Reviews.
• Management of multiple Design Stakeholders.
• Ensure smooth interaction between multiple projects.
• Include design / project interactions both above and below ground – where external influences need consideration (utilities, infrastructure etc).
• Ensuring a cohesive design management process is adhered to throughout all stages of the scheme.
• To work closely with the Project Delivery Manager to ensure that the Project Delivery Team and the Project Design Team are co-operating effectively together at all times and that overall project targets are being achieved.
• Managing the Design process.
• Monitoring compliance with the Project Brief.
• Monitoring progress against the Project Scope.
• Scheduling of Design Reviews at all gateways and Control Points.
• Organising and Managing Technical Review team resource and input.
The successful applicant will need to have experience in coordinating and managing multiple stakeholders and demonstrate the ability to build robust, long term relationships and integrated teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills will be required. It is essential that you can demonstrate a clear, systematic approach to solving complex technical and aesthetic issues and are able to communicate solutions in an effective, high level manner.
Part of the senior management team in a client facing role.
Requirements
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
• 12yrs + of post-graduate experience is essential for client approval.
• Major Programme Building / Infrastructure Design experience is essential.
• Experience of successfully managing a large team of professional staff in a construction or consultancy organisation.
• Experience of managing a Design Team.
• Thorough knowledge of the RIBA Outline Plan of Work Stages.
• Excellent English AND Arabic written and verbal communication skills will be required.
• Excellent Leadership qualities are essential.
Qualifications
• Degree Qualifications is essential for client approval.
• Professional Memberships are an advantage but not essential.
