Senior Logistics Manager - Middle East

WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A SENIOR LOGISTICS MANAGER TO JOIN THE THALES TEAM IN DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.

The Senior Logistics Manager In coordination with Procurement & Logistic Director, the position shall manage and coordinate the Logistic & Supply Chain in the Middle East Region. He/she will be responsible for the satisfactory completion of logistic activities with particular internal/external contractor’s satisfaction in order to deliver the procured Equipment, Subsystems and Services on time and with the required performance and quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Define and deploy the logistic organization, structure process and tools in the Region
• Manage a multi-cultural team spread in ME as well as coordinate operationally and contractually the multi-entities and multi-countries relationship
• Set-up connections with Off-shore Business Lines for the material to be imported.
• Put in place common logistic process, procedures, instructions within the projects for the shipping & transportation, on site warehouse management, logistic partner management, supplier good matching & invoicing…
• Prepares, defines and updates the Logistic Plan for the Region according to the countries operational plan and contractual requirements
• Identify with Purchasing Team the logistic suppliers & partners
• Optimize the cost and the performance of the logistic by creating some initiatives ( Make/Buy, Globalization…)
• Support the Bid team to evaluate the Logistics cost in the bids stage
• Define with legal department T&C’s and legal aspect related to the logistic
• Organize, schedule, supervise, monitor and control, in terms of quality and timing, of all logistics activities for the projects in the region.
• Set up a common tools/database to optimize the recording of the flow receptions, outputs, entries, inventories…as well as the stock

Manage the Performance Plan and propose improvement initiatives for the:
• Warehouse management
• Reception physically and in the ERP system
• Entrance control and conformity of products
• Shipping (I / O movements, inventories) and process the delivery times, co-contracting management ( transport, customs transactions ...)

Define and monitor of the budget for the Region accordance with the BL/GBU
• Applies correctly the Quality procedures and HSE procedures and instructions. Ensures correct application of Quality and HSE procedures and instructions of his team.
• Responsible for process audits of logistic and representative the ME operations during internal/External logistic audits (IPCA, quality audit, Supplier audit ...)
• Participates to Project Meetings when scheduled and/or requested.

• Put in place all KPI at project and Region levels and follow-up of non-conformities, root-cause analyzes and associated action plans

Requirements

• The candidate must have a sound track experience in logistic , Warehouse and Customs management.
• Able to demonstrate strong leadership capacity to federate multi-cultural teams and drive consensus in a transversal organization.
• Extensive experience of working on large scale Metro/Rail Projects
• Frequent travels ( GCC /Europe/Canada….)
• Minimum a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in relevant field
• 10 years of managerial experience is MUST.
