Charterhouse are currently partnering with one of our leading public sector clients; whom are in the process of recruiting a Senior Manager of Economic Research.

With a reporting line to the Chief Economist and Senior Director, this position will take responsibility to plan and manage the execution of economic and business research initiatives and programs, to deliver an advisory support across both internal and external shareholders and third party customers/clients.

This role will be heavily geared towards the overall strategic contribution, whilst overseeing the economic research team within areas of methodology implementation and in-depth analysis and commentary narratives. In conjunction, the role will require to ensure that report papers and findings are effectively produced, along with providing tailored economic analysis and interpretations, to allow for the publications of journals and any ad-hoc projects.

Coupled with this, the role shall also focus towards analysing and assessing the impact of any policy changes whilst considering the trends and economic data at both a micro and macro level.

This Senior Manager shall also be required to oversee and influence stakeholder management; to ensure that business objectives are met and any strategic alliances are aligned to departmental targets, KPIs and production outputs across the team.

Requirements

Our client is looking to hire a PhD qualified Economics graduate, with a career history spanning 15 years, of which 4 years should have been within a managerial-based position.

The successful candidate shall be well-versed across global economic analysis coupled with a detailed insight and appreciation of regional economies and their “engine” dynamics.

In conjunction, candidates shall be expected to present a demonstrable and holistic insight to both micro and macro trends and indicators, whilst also presenting a thorough insight to research methodologies, data analysis and an ability to assess policy-making and forecast any prevailing commercial conditions.

The nature of the business will require strong, precise and pragmatic communication and presentation skills; to cater and deliver for a broad-based audience and partnerships.

The client will be open to considering candidates coming from either “in-house” corporate roles, governmental/public sector institutions or research-centric forums.
