Senior Planning Engineer

Job description / Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planning Engineer to join a tier-one infrastructure main contractor in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the planning and scheduling activities for our projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain project schedules and plans, ensuring that they accurately reflect the scope of work and are achievable within the given timeframe
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather project data and updates, and incorporate them into the master schedule
- Analyse project progress and performance, identify potential delays or issues, and propose solutions to keep the project on track
- Prepare regular reports and updates on project schedules, highlighting any deviations or risks, and present them to the project team and management
- Utilize project management software and tools to support planning and scheduling activities, and ensure that all project data is accurately recorded and maintained
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior planning engineers, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge in project planning and scheduling

Salary:
AED 20,000 to 24,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- Proven experience as a planning engineer in the infrastructure or construction industry, with a strong track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget
- Proficiency in using project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools for planning and scheduling
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Relevant professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PSP (Planning and Scheduling Professional) would be an advantage
