Job description / Role
• Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to support the organization's goals and objectives, including cost reduction, risk mitigation, and supplier relationship management.
• Lead the procurement process from sourcing and vendor selection to contract negotiation, award, and implementation, ensuring that all activities are conducted in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements, and develop procurement plans and specifications accordingly.
• Identify potential suppliers, conduct market research and analysis, and evaluate vendor proposals and bids to select the most suitable suppliers for goods and services.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve the best value for the organization while minimizing risk and ensuring quality and compliance.
• Manage vendor relationships and performance, including conducting regular reviews, addressing issues and concerns, and identifying opportunities for improvement and collaboration.
• Monitor procurement activities and expenditures, track key performance indicators, and prepare regular reports and analysis to support decision-making by senior management.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to procurement and supply chain management, and recommend improvements and enhancements to procurement processes and practices.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to junior procurement staff as needed, and serve as a subject matter expert and resource for procurement-related inquiries and projects.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, procurement, or related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, CPM) is a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with a proven track record of success in managing procurement activities and achieving cost savings and process improvements.
• Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and methodologies, as well as relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent negotiation, contract management, and vendor management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Proficiency in procurement and sourcing tools and software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and information, identify trends and patterns, and make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
