Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Summary: Cost Estimate & Cost Control, Preparing BQ, Tender documentation and management, Post Contract Administration.

Main Duties:
- Lead the Cost Management & Quantity Surveying team positively and spread the spirit of the team work between the team members.
- Help in Planning and activation of the Unit improvement plan.
- Planning and activation the requested procedure to improve the Unit productivity and satisfaction through training courses and the abilities improvement.
- Raise recommendation to HOS regarding recruitment, Promotion, and termination to the unit employees.
- Arrange the interviews and exams arranged to recruitment of new QS to the section and raise recommendation to HOS.
- Create, activate and follow up all the requested procedures to be sure that all the team awareness and commitment to do the requested task.
- Initial budget estimating to assess the feasibility of design proposals.
- Comparative cost advice on alternative designs, materials, systems and methods.
- Detailed cost planning and monitoring to ensure that designs are developed within the approved budget.
- Value engineering of design options to maximize value for money.
- Identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks.
- Manage MTO
- The preparation of BQ.
- Advice on appropriate contract packaging, tendering procedures and procurement options.
- Management of the selected procurement route.
- Preparing and analyzing costing for tenders.
- Tender documentation and management to select a suitable contractor.
- Financial post contract management including progress payment valuations, regular reporting on forecast of expenditure and final cost, and agreement of the final account.

Requirements

- BSC Civil Engineering, B.S.C. QS
- 15 – 20 years of experience for the same
- Familiar with POMI , NRM2 ,NRM3,FIDIC, AACE,CSI and project management
- Knowledge requirements: Computer skills ( Microsoft Applications ) windows 98/XP Microsoft office (word ,excel, access), Common computer programs relevant to engineering field, Excel and Access
- Skill requirements: Leader Ship ,Team player, taking initiative, enthusiastic, Self-motivated, able to priorities work with target
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English. Arabic is a plus.
