Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The purpose of the Quantity Surveyor's role is to manage all costs relating to projects (Construction/Infrastructure), from the initial calculations to the final figures. He shall minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.

Responsibilities:
- Managing costs on a wide variety of Construction & Infrastructure Projects.
- Undertaking costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
- Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies;
- Proper delegation of Q.S. staff and duties in relation to each Main Package
- Ensure proper liaison between construction/site management and quantity surveyors is maintained.
- Performing risk and value management and cost control;
- Advising on procurement strategy;
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities;
- Identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks;
- Preparation of Tender Evaluation report.
- Assisting in preparation of Tender Documents and rates breakdown
- Attend the meeting with Clients and Consultants.
- Preparing and analyzing costings for tenders;
- Providing advice on contractual claims;
- Analyzing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports;
- Valuing completed work and arranging payments;
- Prepares the project cash flow;
- Prepares and files variation claims.

Requirements

- Language Skills - English (Reading Writing and Communication as the working language), any other language a plus.
- Computer literacy - minimum handling of Microsoft Office packages, Project Control packages a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity surveyor background or in civil engineering is preferred for this role.
