Senior Sales Engineer - Valve Automation

Edgen Murray is a leading global supplier to the energy and infrastructure markets specialising in Steel Pipe, Plate, Valves and related components. We have a permanent job opportunity of a Senior Sales Engineer - Valve Automation located in Dubai, UAE.

SUMMARY
To ensure all contractual quotation / order requirements are maintained in terms of technical compliance with client requirements, delivery, documentation and commercial terms. Day-to-day coordination of the sales activities– allocation and monitoring of enquiries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Receive client enquiry by phone, fax, mail or email.
• Review of enquiries received in terms of ability to supply from stock, compliance with clients specs, sourcing of valve from OEMS and distributors and setting margins in line with instruction from the line manager.
• Support the training of internal staff on the quotation of actuated enquiries, covering vendor selection, sizing and selection, technical advice and support as required.
• Logging and compiling quotation into company system.
• Processing enquiry under current QA system and procedures.
• Maintenance of enquiry file and correspondence.
• Work with the external sales team in support of direct selling “actuated valve sales”.
• Contract review for actuated orders.
• Design reviews, vendor and material selection.
• Support documentation review and approval, GA drawings, schematics.
• Monitor and support VAC build activities.
• Follow up all open enquiries to ensure requirements are covered and client is happy with the offer. Obtain information to assist in award of orders and maintain accurate information on open enquiries.
• Participate in forecasting and expediting meetings in weekly / monthly basis.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree or similar experience level.

Work experience and knowledge of:
• Valve Types – Gate, Globe, Check, Butterfly, Ball, Plug etc;
• Valve Actuation and Controls – SOV, Filter Regs, Sizing etc;
• Industry Standards for design, testing etc;
• Client specs and datasheets; and
• Materials and NDT.
Experience in sourcing valves and have a good knowledge of existing suppliers.

COMPUTER SKILLS
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office.
• Experience using Edgen Murray hardware and software.
• Working knowledge of the SOFT systems would be an advantage.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
• Must complete and pass all required pre-employment screenings.
