Job description / Role
WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff would like to hear from degree educated Mechanical Engineers with with over 5 years’ experience in Fire protection systems.
Responsibilities and needed expertise are broadly defined hereafter but not limited to:
• Responsible for inspection of fire alarm and detection devices, fire pumps, fire water tanks, Gas flooding system, deluge / mist system piping and instrumentation, high pressure water valves etc.
• Site supervision of water deluge system, clean agent systems, fire alarm system, smoke extraction system, gas detection systems and other integration with other services
• Responsible for site Testing and commissioning of fire protection system (electrical and mechanical parts).
• Review of site test procedures, and co-ordinate with client engineers and contractors
• Good knowledge of design reviews of fire protection drawings and calculations for gas flow and water hydraulics is preferred
Requirements
• Degree in Engineering in relevant discipline
• 5+ years post-qualification experience in FPS (Fire Protection Systems) in substations
• Experience / approval in UAE/Qatar substation utilities authorities like DEWA/ADWEA for FPS works
• Experience in Pre and Post Tender clarification and evaluations.
• Experience in design reviews of drawings/ calculations/ method statements/ testing procedures.
• Good expert judgment during contractor fails to achieve planned activities at site.
