Gulf Business Unit is one of the 5 Business Units within North Africa and Middle East MCO. The BU consists of 5 countries- UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar and operates on a hybrid model of Joint ventures and Distributor management. The business has a turnover of apx 500 M Euros and is one of the most profitable businesses within Unilever. Customer Development as a function consists of apx 250 employees.

Main Job Purpose:

The site SHE Coordinator has the responsibility for assisting SHE manager in managing Safety, Health & Environment improvement activities to achieve excellence at the site level. S/he works with site Supply Chain teams to develop the local SHE Strategy and improvement plans in order to achieve sustainable SHE excellence by reducing injuries, illnesses and environmental impact as measured in the core KPIs. Where geographical proximity, size and complexity permit, this role may cover more than one site

Requirements

Key Accountabilities:

- Assist in deploying the global/cluster SHE strategy, policy and standards in the site to achieve excellent sustainable results
- Drive safety and environment risk assessment and develop/implement appropriate controls
- Reduce the site's environmental impact in the areas of COD, hazardous & non-hazardous waste, SOx & CO 2 emissions and water & energy consumption
- Assist in the SHE Pillar in accordance with ManEx
- Monitor site legal compliance and ensure the site meets all local/national regulatory requirements and Unilever standards, provide advice on national SHE legislation requirements & implement relevant procedures and policies
- Daily monitoring and reporting to management on raised hazard tags
- Weekly monitoring on results of critical equipment inspection
- Weekly monitoring of SMAT audits results and operator audit results
