Sous Chef

Job description / Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Executive Chef, leading kitchen operations, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality and innovative culinary experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in overseeing day-to-day kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
• Execute menu items according to established recipes and guidelines.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development and enhancements.
• Work closely with kitchen staff to coordinate and delegate tasks effectively.
• Provide guidance and support to junior chefs, fostering a positive work environment.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to culinary standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and freshness of ingredients.
• Assist in training kitchen staff on cooking techniques, menu items, and safety procedures.
• Encourage creativity and innovation among the culinary team.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef to manage kitchen inventory and ordering of supplies.
• Monitor and control food costs.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Implement and enforce kitchen cleanliness standards.
• Support the planning and execution of special events, promotions, and themed nights.
• Ensure seamless coordination with front-of-house staff

Salary:
AED 4,000 to 5,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

• Culinary degree or equivalent certification.
• 5-7 years of culinary experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory/sous chef role.
• Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cuisines.
• Leadership and teamwork abilities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Creative and innovative approach to culinary arts.
