Job description / Role
Our client, a leading semi-government hospital, is currently looking for Staff Nurse specialized in Pediatric patients, to be based in Dubai. In this role, your responsibilities would include but not limited to:
• Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in the LTVU, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and conducting assessments.
• Implement and maintain a plan of care tailored to each patient's individual needs, with a focus on optimizing respiratory function and overall health.
• Monitor and manage ventilator settings, tracheostomy care, and other respiratory interventions as per physician orders and established protocols.
• Perform regular assessments of patients' respiratory status, including ventilator weaning protocols and readiness assessments.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for patients.
• Communicate effectively with patients' families, providing education and support regarding their child's condition, treatment plan, and home care requirements.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and care planning meetings to contribute to the overall management of patients in the LTVU.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety regulations, and quality improvement initiatives within the LTVU.
• Adhere to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
• Stay abreast of current trends, research, and best practices in pediatric nursing and respiratory care, participating in continuing education and professional development activities as appropriate.
• Actively engage in performance improvement initiatives, contributing ideas and feedback to enhance the quality of care provided in the LTVU.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• With DHA Registered Nurse license/eligibility.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in pediatric nursing, with specific experience in caring for patients requiring long-term ventilator support.
• Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
• Willing to work 48 hours per week.
• Willing to be based in Dubai, UAE.
