Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Business Development
• Research potential targets and cold call companies with a view to generating an effective pipeline of potential clients.
• This will focus mainly on large corporates with a view to setting up facilities in the emirate.
• Using personal network and partners to best identify and contact companies.
• Work with Government entities in Ras Al Khaimah to fully understand the wider proposition and how to present effectively to potential clients.
• Identify and build relationships with key multipliers to promote Ras Al Khaimah and generate a pipeline of investment leads.
• Provide monthly reports and updates in order to identify actions needed and the alternative channels for focus, as well as to assist in making informed decisions in developing the business development strategy.
• Organise, manage and attend business development events serving as a senior business representative of the emirate.
• Attend industry events, conferences, trade shows, and expositions in order to keep up to date on changes in target industries while generating new opportunities.
• Identify and develop new business ideas and help to develop products to generate investment opportunities.
• Work with partners and internal teams (for example, Strategy and Marketing) to develop focused propositions that can be used to target specific companies/opportunities.
• Arrange and host visits to the emirate.

Customer Relationship Management
• Continuously interact and work with key customers to understand their business needs and objectives and how the organisation could better service their requirements.

Continuous Improvement:
• Proactively identify and work closely with the BD team to inspect BD process quality and prioritise opportunities for improvement.
• Review and feedback constructively internally and externally, especially on lost investment opportunities.
• Develop new strategies for the department to attract investments
• Assist Director of BD team to understand bottlenecks, inconsistencies and how these should be resolved.

Requirements

Professional Qualifications
• Circa 10 years of experience in market entry advisory and consulting roles
• Experience in a similar role demonstrating track record of success in developing large scale new business opportunities.

Other requirements
• Fluent in English. Other languages useful from target geographies, especially Arabic.
• Excellent research and analytical skills
• Market-focused and results-oriented.
• Comfortable working to stretching targets.
• Effective presenter
• Responds well in fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Ability to analyse and interpret information quickly and efficiently.
• Can draft concise reports requiring synthesis and thoughtful analysis of data
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build long term effective relationships.
• Excellent IT Skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel
• Flexible working approach depending on workload.
