Structural Draftsman

Job description / Role

1. Produce technical design and detailing drawings based on rough sketches, specification and calculations from engineers, surveyors and architects.
2. Checks and corrects work prepared by others in order to conform to standards, specifications, and design requirements
3. Experience in design review, shop drawings as per consultant and client requirement.
4. Prepare finished drawings for construction work from sketches, specifications, and field notes
5. Prepares structural calculations for reinforcement concrete and analyses of building components
6. Prepares preliminary plans, cost estimates, and specifications based upon requirements of department for which building is planned
7. Be vigilant for upcoming scheduled activities in advance to coordinate with 3rd parties in advance for the activities require testing .e.g. FDT, concreting and asphalting etc.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned
9. Design change requirements, including but not limited to building structures, steel reinforcement and erection.
10. Identify any deviation in the design and provide justification for the deviation.
11. Experienced in local Jeddah Procedures.
12. Be able to prepare quick, simple and accurate hand calculations to check the designing of others.
13. Be able to perform with detailing bars.

Requirements

1. Holder of Bachelor Degree/Diploma of Structural / Civil Engineering.
2. Minimum 3 years experience in the field of Structural design. Experience in apartment/village compound building is preferred.
3. Experience in UAE/GCC country is a must.
4. Experience performing detailing bars is a must.
5. Shall be excellent in English writing, speaking.
6. Advanced user of is mandatory.
7. Review contract, scope of work and specifications.
