Team Introduction: The METAP Tax team is building to work with other corporate functions on tax advisory, planning, structuring, and tax controversy. We ensure compliance with direct (corporate income tax) and indirect tax and solve tax-related issues. Position Summary: TikTok is seeking an experienced Tax Country Manager in Dubai who will become an integral part of our global Tax Department. Responsibilities include conducting thorough tax risk assessments, collaborating with external consultants, and providing practical solutions. You'll play a key role in reviewing tax validation, reconciling tax data, and ensuring compliance with VAT General Ledger accounts. Stay ahead by monitoring and analyzing tax legislation, while supporting periodic compliance checks and providing independent tax advice for diverse business projects and products in the region.

Responsibilities:
• Tax Risk Assessments: Conduct tax risk assessments, identifying potential risk exposures. Provide recommendations and practical solutions with support from external tax consultants.
• Collaboration and Validation: Collaborate internally with the tax team in preparing/reviewing tax validation and reconciliation. Review VAT General Ledger accounts, matching with tax returns, and providing practical solutions for compliance issues.
• Monitoring Tax Legislation: Monitor and analyze proposed and newly enacted tax legislation, regulations, and judicial decisions. Assess the impact on company operations and financial positions for upcoming and existing products/markets.
• Tax Compliance Checks: Support the tax team in conducting periodical tax compliance checks on business units. Highlight areas of exceptions with document compliance requirements.
• Ad-Hoc Tax Support: Independently prepare tax advice and provide ad-hoc tax support on various service lines/business projects/products in the region.

Requirements

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
• Experience: Strong progressive tax working experience in the Middle East, Pakistan, Africa region.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Taxation
• International Tax Analysis: Capable of conducting international tax analysis independently.
• Adaptability and Detail Orientation: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience with Big4/large MNC.
• Industry Experience: Technology/E-commerce industry working experience is a plus.
