Technical Director (Oil & Gas)

Job description / Role

- Controlling the overall functioning of the fleet of tankers (Crude carrier and Product carriers ranging from VLCC to MR tankers), including but not limited to Cargo Operations, technical management of vessels including maintenance update, Classification and statutory status, dry-docking and upgradation management, and Crew Management in full compliance with the applied legislation
- Ensuring that each ship under supervision is adequately manned with qualified, certified, and medically fit seafarers in compliance with national and international legislation.
- Managing the technical operations of the vessels including purchase management, bunker management, dry- docking management either directly under control or under technical managers control.
- Preparation of annual budgets of vessels and providing monthly management information reports.
- Serving as the Head of the Emergency Response Team
- Monitoring the performance of the crew and maintaining evaluation records for officers and crew members
- Ensuring continuous personnel training and development both ashore and on board
- Overseeing operations / maintenance activities / management activities / crew management of fleet of vessels under technical / crewing management by technical managers and reviewing performance / budgetary expenses and approving same.
- Coordinating with commercial team to ensure compliance of vessels related to cargo operations.
- Handling of vetting inspections requirements as per OCIMF/SIRE
- Coordinating Bunker supplies / compliant fuel analysis
- Having close coordination with dry-docks / shipbuilding yard worldwide.
- Developing a technical team underneath for future inhouse management

Technical Responsibilities:
- Conducting technical assessments and inspections of vessels to identify areas for improvement.
- Developing and implementing strategies for improving the technical efficiency and reliability of the fleet
- Collaborating with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure vessels are in optimal working condition.
- Preparation of annual operating budget of vessels, review of expenses and reporting .
- Review of various agreements and contracts under technical and crew management.
- Overseeing performance of technical managers

Requirements

- Extensive experience in technical management of oil tankers with a focus on Cargo Operations, Crew Management, and technical aspects of vessel operations
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to oversee and administer multiple departments.
- Strong understanding of international maritime regulations and labor legislations, precisely UAE/UK
- Experience in emergency response and crisis management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Technical expertise in vessel maintenance, repair, and compliance
- Familiarity with evaluation procedures for officers and crew members
- Familiar with Insurance covers of vessels and handling of claims.
- Good communication skill in English (Russian language is a preferred advantage)
