Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This position is responsible for managing the Middle East Trade Compliance of Honeywell Automation & Control Solutions; managing the execution of the trade strategy for ME; facilitating international trade transactions in an efficient manner with minimal risk and cost to the corporation; and for providing oversight on all import and export activities in the ME sub-region.

Responsibilities:

- Implement import & export processes and procedures and ensure the continuous updates consistent with laws and regulations
- Ensure proper record retention for all import and export documentation
- Resolve compliance issues pertaining to Customs and Other Government Agencies/Departments/Ministries in relation to import and export transactions
- Serve as a focal point of contact with Customs Authorities
- Interface with Government Authorities, Freight Forwarders, Customs brokers, and Corporate International Trade Compliance function to ensure all required processes, permits and documentations are in good order
- Provide training to achieve compliance within other functional areas that impact international trade transactions such as Finance, Sourcing, etc.
- Lead the integration of aquisitions into the established import / export processes in India
- Support government audits related to import and export activities; conduct self-assessment reviews
- Responsible for Export Clearance and Export Controls program for the designated businesses across ACS
- Ensure correct Classification and Valuation of Goods
- Provide support to Brokerage Bids related to ME
- Oversee Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Performance in the ME sub-region to ensure high level of accuracy of import and export declarations along with timely processing time
- Engage with Logistics COE and ISC Leaders to implement strategies in order to minimize cost and cycle time related to international transactions
- Identify risks and challenges, and implement appropriate solutions for ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
- Implement standard processes to maximize efficiency levels
- Support the defined international logistics strategies to minimize cycle time and cost
- Monitor key performance indicators and ensure alignment with the expectations of the various businesses
- Ensure continuous positive cost/benefit balance of Special programs such as FTZs, bonded warehouse operations, etc.
- Explore and avail all FTA benefits across ACS business
- Ensure adequate resources are in place in order to support current business and expected growth
- Provide support to new product introductions and provide advice to the various businesses as necessary
- Evaluate participation in customs programs
- Support existing security programs and maintenance of authorizations (CTPAT)
- Support HOS and HGR business initiatives implementation for the Trade function
- Promote growth through the elimination of regulatory barriers to trade
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, supply chain and logistic teams in securing the most efficient and cost effective supply chain through accurate landed cost analysis in support of global sourcing and manufacturing decisions.
- Identify opportunities to deliver on additional productivity

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications:

- Master´s degree in Business Administration – preferred
- Bachelor degree in international business or related field - required
- Minimum of 5 years import and export compliance experience in industry or a professional service firm
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in ISC roles
- Experience in the implementation of duty savings programs (bonded operations, use of preference agreements)
- Experience with trade or other import/export software programs
- Proactive, well-organized, and motivated to achieve high-level of performance
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Compliance and results oriented
