We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Traffic Signal Design Consultant to join our dynamic team. As a Traffic Signal Design Consultant, you will play a key role in designing and implementing effective traffic signal systems to enhance traffic flow, improve safety, and optimize transportation infrastructure. This role requires expertise in traffic engineering, signal design, and a deep understanding of regional standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Traffic Signal System Design:
- Lead the design and optimization of traffic signal systems for various transportation projects.
- Conduct thorough traffic analyses to determine signal timing, phasing, and coordination strategies.
- Develop signal plans, specifications, and construction details, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Traffic Engineering Expertise:
- Provide expert advice on traffic engineering principles and practices.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing traffic signal systems based on industry best practices and innovative technologies.

Project Management:
- Manage and oversee traffic signal design projects from initiation to completion.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, and project managers, to ensure successful project delivery.

Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay current with local, state, and federal regulations related to traffic signal design.
- Ensure that all designs adhere to relevant safety standards and guidelines.

Client Interaction:
- Work closely with clients to understand their specific needs and objectives.
- Communicate effectively to convey technical concepts and project progress to clients and stakeholders.

Quality Assurance:
- Conduct thorough reviews of traffic signal designs to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Implement quality assurance processes to deliver high-quality and reliable designs.

Requirements

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in traffic signal system design and optimization.
- Strong proficiency in traffic engineering software and simulation tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- 5-10 years of experience is required for this role.
