Job description / Role
Main Purpose of the Job:
Our Transport Planning team is looking for a Transport Planner to assist with the delivery of projects across the region
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
* Be the point of contact for the client; address all needs and queries from client
* Responsible for the management of project finances and budgeting
* Manage of sub-consultants
* Contract management and ensure invoices are issued in compliance to the agreed terms
* Responsible for the management of junior team members: conduct team resourcing meetings, ensure projects are properly resourced and team members are sufficiently occupied
* Mentoring and training other team members
* Review the work of others on projects deliverables; regularly monitor project deliverables
* Assume project leader role on medium sized projects, and assist project leaders on large projects
* Identify opportunities, create follow up work and develop proposals
Requirements
Essential Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years plus experience in transport planning/modelling/engineering
* Minimum Bachelors' degree in a relevant engineering discipline; a Masters' in Transport Planning and Engineer would be advantageous
* Membership to a relevant, recognised professional institution would be a distinct advantage
* Demonstrate the ability to use initiative to solve majority of problems that could occur on a project
* Skills in managing own time and the time of others, setting priorities for others to meet deadlines
* Understanding of the Mott MacDonald Methodology and Project Management principles, and implementing this on projects
