Job description / Role
The Platform owner leads the Unix Practice within the Enterprise Systems Platform unit. This entails management of a number of subject matter experts including vendor teams. The Platform owner is responsible for the leadership, technology direction, application development, implementation, maintenance, and support of all Unix and middleware.

Description
* Establish a standard set of products that caters for different workloads based on X86 platforms
* Continuous update of the Group IT product catalogue with the approved stack.
* Enforce a standard build and housekeeping checklists: this will simplify the environment and drive cost down.
* Sponsor and drive projects to move the non-compliant workloads into the standard stack.
* Build the products strategy and road map.
* Establish the product backlog that require to be addressed on quarterly basis.
* Sponsor and drive backlog projects to completion.
* Continuous R&D and vendor engagement.
* Automate the installation to achieve Zero touch unattended deployment.
* Review all housekeeping activities and identify key processes that should be automated.
* Design solutions that caters for enhancing the operational stability.
* Address Problem tickets, Risk and Audit items in the products backlog.

Requirements
* Bachelors of Computer Science
* 10 years of experience at a relevant managerial position in large organizations
* Banking experience
* Excellent technical knowledge in Red Hat Linux OS and JBoss Platforms
* Good technical knowledge in Traditional RISC Platforms (AIX, Solaris)
* Good technical knowledge in IBM WAS and Oracle Weblogic platforms
* Progressive understanding of Oracle Linux and Ubuntu OS
* Good Understanding of the products Licensing
* Strong people and leadership management skills with proven ability to lead, motivate, inspire, develop, and encourage people.
* Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
