Job description / Role
Candidates with UAE dry bulk shipping chartering management experience and currently living in the UAE will be considered.
Client Profile
Our client is a well-established and well-reputed diverse organisation and as part of their commodity trading expansion we are recruiting a UAE experienced Chartering Manager with experience of dry bulk shipments to join their Dubai office to proactively manage the vessel and time chartering and P&L for each voyage.
The Role
• Proactively manage the chartering of cape-size and handy-size vessels for dry bulk shipments and negotiate voyage and time charter contractors with ship owners, operators, shipping brokers and charterers.
• Responsible for demurrage, laytime and insurance and claim handling.
• Conduct market analysis to negotiate the most competitive pricing and movement of dry bulk goods.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience Required
• 10 – 15 years’ experience in vessel chartering with a minimum of 4 years’ experience cape-size and handy-size dry bulk chartering in Asia focusing on tonnage, specifically for steel, iron ore and coal.
• Experience within the commodity trading industry is an advantage
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree is mandatory.
• Formal qualifications in maritime are an advantage.
Candidate Profile
• Currently living in the UAE.
• Fluent in English – must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
