Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Primary Purpose: The Education Manager is responsible for development and delivery of the VEDC Curriculum Strategy in accordance with the client, UAE Ministry of Education and Awarding Body guidelines and requirements.

Secondary Purposes: Responsible for the developing UAE business/Industry partnerships in support of work placement and future employment opportunities.

Job Specifications:

• Acting as a member of the VEDC Management Council responsible for the development of VEDC Policy and Strategy and the endorsement of the VEDC Curriculum Strategy.
• Monitor all VEDC academic education and vocational skills instruction teaching / instructional staff to ensure they fulfill their roles in a professional, dynamic and energetic manner to ensure all teaching / instruction and support activity is conducted to the highest standards.
• Responsible for all aspects of Academic and Vocational course programming and timetabling, in conjunction with Heads of Departments, and ensuring all training is conducted in accordance with the Curriculum Strategy and VEDC instructions.
• Responsible for all aspects of Academic and Vocational course syllabus/assessment material development, in conjunction with Heads of Departments, and ensuring all development/assessment is conducted in accordance with the Curriculum Strategy and VEDC instructions
• Ensure the timely production, approval and issue of all academic / vocational general instructions, weekly training programs, training instructions and dissemination of strategic direction to the academic / vocational departments.
• Responsible, in collaboration with the Operations Manager, for the maintenance and development of the VEDC trainee academic / vocational (personnel) files and databases.
• Oversee departmental Quality Control and internal validation for all academic / vocational training documentation at VEDC according to the Curriculum Strategy and policy:
• Through validation, report on and offer advice and recommendations for enhancement of training to fully meet training objectives, including the state of training resources.
• Ensure all training is produced and conducted in a dynamic, challenging, realistic and safe manner, in line with the Training Objectives and current (doctrinal) teaching and methods.
• Coordinate and quality control all departmental administration and training-related publications, templates, formats and facilities as required.
• Liaise with VEDC departments for the integration and use of IAT Technology Park facilities, equipment and manpower.
• Monitor VEDC academic / vocational training resources/facilities and advise on the refurbishment of existing facilities and procurement of new resources, facilities and equipment.
• Establishes Formal Work Relationships - Establishes implements and evaluates procedures used to carry out the daily routine of the VEDC Education Sub-departments.
• Evaluates Performance - Participates in the evaluation of trainee performance in the instructional program by means that include the maintaining of up-to-date trainee data.
• Facilitates Organizational Efficiency - Maintains good relationships with trainees, staff, and parents. Complies with established lines of authority.
• New Staff and Students - Orients and assists new staff members and new trainees and provides opportunities for their input into the VEDC Education programmes.
• Supplies and Equipment - Manages, directs, and maintains records on

Requirements

Experience Required:

• Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience and two years successful academic supervisory experience (with experience of curriculum implementation)
• Experience with teacher support and/or curriculum and assessment development planning.
• Bilingual Arabic/English language ability. Priority for native-Arabic speaker who is able to communicate effectively in English

Education Requirements:

• Master Degree in the field of education, M. Ed or M. Sc. Preferably Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Math/Science

• Basic Salary: AED 22,823/-
• Housing Allowance: AED 10,400/- (Single) and AED 13,000/- (Married)
• Education allowance: AED 80,000/- (Maximum 40,000/- for one child)
• Relocation Allowance: AED 20,000/- (paid in two installments)
• Ticket Allowance: For Employee, spouse and up to 3 children below 18 (once in a year)
• Medical Insurance: For Employee, spouse and up to 3 children below 18
