Job description / Role

Emerson Automation Solutions currently has a new role for a Welder to be based in our Dubai Office, UAE. The position is responsible for carrying out the Welding / Fabrication & Heat Treatment activities of various material grades as per the approved welding procedure specifications and FMP’s. He/she must be able to understand and manage the need & purpose of pre & post welding requirements as required by the welding codes and approved procedures.

Responsibilities
• Interpretation of Routing/Job Orders released for welding/fabrication.
• Picking & Inspection of parts released for welding/fabrication.
• Interpretation & use of approved welding procedure specifications, drawings, and welding symbols, GD&T symbols mentioned in the drawing released for welding/fabrication.
• Selection & use of welding parameters mentioned in the approved welding procedures for the released job.
• Weld fit up as required for the released routing/job order.
• Selection of welding consumables as per approved welding procedure specifications.
• Storage, handling and waste management of welding consumables as per welding codes & standards and Fisher procedures.
• Use of suitable PPE for welding / fabrication as required and ensure the safety of self and others.
• Operating of heat treatment furnace.
• Interpretation & use of approved heat treatment procedures released against routing / job orders.
• Create heat treatment cycle and store the same as per the procedure so that it should be retrievable.
• Heat Treatment & Post Weld Heat Treatment to be carried out as per the routing / job orders.
• Checking of hardness after the heat treatment cycle.
• Use of suitable PPE for Heat Treatment as required and ensure the safety of self and others.
• Control valve assembly activities as and when required.
• Picking of valve and actuator parts as per the released pick list / job order
• Assembling of various actuators, control valves and other instruments as per the job order.
• Testing & recording of results of valves.

Requirements

The successful candidate must have a Technical Diploma or equivalent in related field. He or she should have a 5-8 years of welding experience with ASME Section XI 6G and EN287 qualification. Experience in PTA welding, Fabrication & Weld Fit up, Heat Treatment & Post Weld Heat Treatment and understanding of control valves components and assembly activities is also essential for this role.
