Senior Offshore Construction Engineer (Structure)

Job description / Role

Guildhall takes pride in representing this esteemed EPC organization in Uganda, actively searching for a qualified Senior Offshore Construction Engineer with expertise in offshore structure engineering and construction, particularly in small offshore platform construction. This individual will be an integral part of our team, reporting directly to the Construction & Commissioning Manager, and contributing a comprehensive range of engineering and construction input from design to execution phases.

Responsibilities:

• Review structural design for the offshore lake water abstraction platform in collaboration with Engineering Division.
• Assess equipment layouts on the lake water abstraction platform, prepare lifting and loading plans, and ensure operability.
• Interface with Engineering Division for input into the engineering design of the offshore pipeline.
• Contribute to construction feasibility studies.
• Develop Construction Execution Plan, Construction Methodologies, and related documents.
• Chair constructability review meetings.
• Provide inputs into schedule and estimates.
• Coordinate and supervise construction personnel on site.
• Prepare weekly progress reports for the client.
• Liaise with Engineering Division and equipment package suppliers to resolve technical issues.
• Review environmental impact during construction and proactively address ESIA issues.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate should possess a BS degree in Engineering/Project Management or equivalent field experiences, with essential offshore platform and structure design and construction experiences.
• Recognized expertise and leadership in construction and project management.
• Exposure to multi-cultures, backgrounds, and environments.
• Good presentation and communication skills.
• Minimum of 20 years in the O&G industry, with ten years in a leadership role.
• Experience in green and brownfield projects.
• Expertise in detailed engineering design of offshore platforms and subsea pipelines, process risk management, and construction & commissioning methods.
• Fluent in the English.
