This is a London Based Role - International applicants will be considered.
Global Banking Advisory Specialist is currently looking for Consultant's to join their Risk Advisory team at their London offices. The team delivers tailored services across market and counterparty risk, liquidity, credit risk, operational risk, insurance risk and risk technology.
The credit risk team supports firms to improve all aspects of their credit risk management frameworks. The team has recently been supporting clients in areas including risk appetite, Internal Ratings Based and IFRS9 models and frameworks, stress testing and capital optimisation.
Upcoming changes to the regulatory capital framework is a key focus. The new proposals from the Basel Committee for Banking Supervision for Standardised Approach to Credit Risk and constraints on the use of Internal Ratings Based approaches as well as IFRS9 implementation will have significant impact on all aspects of our banking clients’ business and they are seeking our advice.
You, as the successful Consultant, will build strong relationships with external clients and internal stakeholders and develop a portfolio of business by focusing on high impact opportunities and delivering market leading solutions and insights. You will lead presentations and proposals for medium to highly complex projects, manage teams across specialist areas and geographies, create innovative solutions, adapt methodologies and practices to fit the operational team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership. You will drive sustainable growth in the business through the development of individuals in the team, leading solutions and trusted relationships.

Requirements
- Experience in a credit risk focused role(s) (for example: Business Analysis, Process Engineering, Quantitative Modelling and Validation, Project Management, MI and Reporting etc.) either as part of a financial service institution, regulatory body or in an advisory or business consulting capacity.
- Experience of credit risk in a banking book environment focused on corporate, SME and retail lending.
- Knowledge of credit risk measurement and management – additional knowledge of counterparty credit risk and capital management would be an advantage.
- Experience in credit risk management processes and frameworks including governance, risk appetite, limits, identification, measurement, monitoring, reporting, supporting data and infrastructure.
- Prior experience within a consultancy role would be highly advantageous, or leading large change programmes or teams within an institution.
- Proven ability to effectively manage and motivate large multi-disciplined teams. Strong leadership skills.
- Knowledge of Financial Services Regulation such as CRDIV.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory reforms impacting financial institutions.
- Knowledge of IRB and / or IFRS9 would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong academic background.
- Experience in working with other financial services risk disciplines with clear insights in the mechanisms of a holistic enterprise risk framework.
- Ability to focus on the right issues and work in a high pressure environment.
- Confident and credible communicator who displays both technical knowledge and commercial understanding.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with managing expectations of both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability and appetite to drive business development and contribute to the growth of Global Banking Advisory Specialist’s market solutions.
