Salary Range: £ 65,000-70,000

Our Client delivers comprehensive design and construction services, covering all aspects of rail infrastructure, offering single and multi-discipline solutions to suit their client’s needs.

They have successfully delivered ‘on network' schemes with timely delivery in line with thier clients operational and quality aspirations whilst minimising the impact on the live infrastructure. Their strength lies in innovative and value engineering methods that have led to effective management of cost and efficiencies throughout their delivery of their projects.

This in turn has resulted in more projects. This is one of many new positions created to meet the workforce needs generated by these new projects. This organisation is growing; this is a great opportunity for someone who is committed and seeks to be a senior design engineer in the foreseeable future.

Overall Role Purpose:
- To be their clients principle point of contact for design of a particular project(s)
- To be accountable for the Design Management of a particular project(s)
- To interface directly with the employer’s project Engineering team.
- To interface directly with all Design service consultants and providers
- To support the Project Manager with managing the contract & commercial aspects relating to design for a particular project(s)
- To develop and maintain the design programme and other design controls
- Maintain an awareness of all Design related aspects relating to the Business
- To support the Engineering Manager in developing Design “Best Practice” within the Business
- To add value to the project(s) by promoting specific ‘best value’ design solutions
- To portray a professional and responsible image of the company to the clients, their colleagues and contractors
- To be part of the regional ‘Bid Team’ delivering value engineering options, operation delivery solutions, preliminary input and bid document information
- To promote Health Safety and Quality to the projects and through the tender process

Requirements

Must have In-depth Knowledge and understanding of construction detailing yet pose business & commercial Awareness at all times. The role requires an individual who is a strong communicator yet is tactfully assertive.

The desired individual will be highly Self-motivated, become a proactive team player who is able to work under pressure with a ‘Can do’ attitude posing the ability to take initiative whilst be cost efficient and productive member of the project team.

- Experience in Rail Design Assurance and Documentation requirements
- Knowledge of internal Design & Engineering Procedures
- Construction experience of at least 5 years
- Ideally academic qualification up to QVC 4 or above.
- Through training and academic qualification to proceed to Senior Design Manger
- PTS
- CSCS
