Director of Data Governance

Job description / Role

Director of Data Governance - £105,000 - £140,000

Client is a leading global tier 1 financial services provider operating in over 70 countries globally. They cover all areas of banking from personal banking, credit cards, corporate, investment banking and wealth management.

They are currently looking to build out a Data Governance capability within one of their largest change management functions and are seeking to hire a Data Governance Director to oversee the entire capability. The successful candidate will be responsible for the data governance strategy, data management and data quality as well as helping the bank develop and implement new operating models for how data is managed and changed across the bank.

The successful candidate will report into the UK Head of this function and be responsible for driving the conformance of the group data management policy and establish data governance & control frameworks across the bank.

Requirements

* Minimum of 7 years' experience in a data governance/management within financial services
* Developed operating model for data management
* Established vision for data strategy
* Managed data control frameworks
* Experience with performing data analysis and interpreting information into business sense

Desired Experience
* Experience setting up and establishing Data Governance frameworks
* Managing high level, sensitive data changes
* Experience working in data change regulations e.g. GDPR, BCBS 239
* Managing and implementing strategy for data governance
* Strong experience in data related activities (metadata, data governance, MDM, insight…)
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Experience working with colleagues spread across multiple global locations
