Job Title: Chef - Brunch and Snack Cafe

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and creative Chef to join our vibrant team at a Brunch and Snack Cafe. As the Chef, you will be responsible for developing and executing a menu that offers a variety of high-quality and visually appealing sandwiches, croissants with filling, salads, desserts, and other cafe specialties. Your expertise in artful plating and knowledge of kitchen processes will contribute to the overall success of our culinary offerings. In addition to the culinary responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to contribute to menu development, kitchen management, and team leadership.

Responsibilities:

Menu Development:
- Create an innovative and diverse menu for the cafe, emphasizing high-quality brunch and snack items.
- Design visually appealing dishes that showcase both taste and presentation.
- Incorporate seasonal ingredients and stay updated on food trends to ensure a fresh and exciting menu.

Culinary Execution:
- Prepare and assemble sandwiches, croissants, salads, desserts, and other cafe menu items to consistently high standards.
- Implement artful plating techniques to enhance the visual appeal of the dishes.
- Ensure that all food is prepared and presented in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Kitchen Management:
- Organize and manage the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, inventory management, and ordering supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to safety and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and refine kitchen processes for optimal efficiency.

Team Leadership:
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring that they understand and adhere to the cafe's culinary standards and procedures.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to the kitchen staff.

Quality Assurance:
- Monitor and maintain food quality, ensuring dishes consistently meet the cafe's standards.
- Conduct regular tastings and gather feedback to make necessary adjustments to the menu, as required.
- Implement quality control measures to minimize food waste and maximize cost-effectiveness.

Salary:
BHD 250 to 400 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a brunch or cafe setting.
- Strong culinary skills, with expertise in creating visually appealing dishes.
- In-depth knowledge of brunch and snack food trends, flavors, and ingredients.
- Proficiency in artful plating techniques and food presentation.
- Ability to develop menus that balance creativity, taste, and profitability.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Knowledge of kitchen processes, including inventory management and food safety.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Formal culinary education or relevant certifications are a plus.
