Information Security Officer - Banking

Job description / Role

Our client is a leading Service Provider, with a head office in Muscat, Oman. They are currently seeking an Information Security Officer - Banking to join their team. The role will ensure the safeness of an organisation's information systems, networks, and data from security breaches and cyber threats. The ISO is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the information security program to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information.

- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Manage the security risk assessment and mitigation process.
- Create, communicate and implement a risk-based process for vendor risk management, including the assessment and treatment for risks that may result from partners, consultants and other service providers.
- Lead the development and execution of incident response plans.
- Build and manage a high-performing security team.
- Manage the information security budget.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in information security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in information security
- Proven track record of success in developing and implementing security programs.
- Strong understanding of security best practices and industry standards (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001
- Experience within the Banking Industry will be advantageous
