Networking and Communication Engineer (Intelligent Transportation System-ITS)
• Networking and Communication Engineer (Intelligent Transportation System-ITS)
• Design of Networking and communication systems for Traffic Control Systems (TCS) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
• Possess expertise in traffic sensors, toll tag readers, induction loops, lane control signals, traffic signal controllers, field equipment cabinets(FECs), roundabout signal controls, and CCTV including Field of View (FoV) calculations and storage sizing.
• Apply ICT concepts to design and implement robust ITS network infrastructure.
• Hands-on design experience in structured cabling, encompassing CAT 6/CAT 7 Cu cabling, fiber optic cables, splicing techniques, and ensuring Hub connectivity.
• Integrate both passive and active systems, including control room equipment, servers, data storage, access switches, core switches, distribution switches, firewalls, and traffic controllers.
• Design of interoperability of communication systems with other TCS/ITS components.
• Experienced in active systems involving control room peripherals, server rack sizing, servers, data storage, access switches, core switches, distribution switches, firewalls, traffic controllers, cabinets, etc.
• Design experience in TCS/ITS corridors, ducts/manholes, and road crossing ducts, with a thorough understanding of electrical infrastructure, power backup, and communication design.
• Possessing approval from ITC Abu Dhabi for traffic control systems design for communication is an added advantage.
• Possession of CCNA and CCNP certifications is an added advantage.

Responsibilities:
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining communication and networking systems for intelligent transportation systems (ITS)
• Configuring and optimizing network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls
• Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting network issues
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate communication and networking systems with other ITS components
• Ensuring the security and reliability of communication and networking systems
• Staying updated with the latest networking technologies and best practices

Requirements

Minimum requirements:
• Design of ITS, signalized junctions, tunnels, toll booths, and intelligent transportation systems using Civil 3D and Revit MEP experience and skills, including ProjectWise, infra works, Navis works, BIM, etc.
• Ability to work closely with design leads and manage the approval process, interfacing with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
• In-depth understanding of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and UAE; additional experience in KSA and other Middle East projects is an added advantage.
• Proficient in Autodesk 2D, 3D, Revit MEP, and BIM.
• Strong infrastructure engineering background with previous experience on infrastructure projects.
• Technical report writing skills and developing specifications and data sheets.
• Working towards digitalization skills, innovations, and improvements to manage workload and accomplish deliverables.
• Ability to work with multiple teams with diverse backgrounds on geographically and culturally diverse projects.
• Experienced in working with diverse teams and performing specific portions of broader engineering assignments.

Preferred qualifications:
• Minimum bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics, and communication engineering or equivalent, 3-5 years of experience in ITS/TCS and infrastructure design only.
