General Description
Performs complex (journey-level) systems administration work. Work involves maintaining the upkeep, configuration, security and reliable operation of systems. Installs and upgrades computer components and system software. May provide guidance to others. Works under general supervision of Alpadis Head of Group IT.

Distinguishing Characteristics

The Senior Systems Administrator job classification series is intended for employees that work directly with computer hardware and software, including installation, maintenance, and data recovery. Employees typically install and update software, manage servers, resolve problems with computer systems, evaluate and optimize a system for effective performance, add users to networks, manage desktop and mobile equipment, and provide routine automation. Helps to develop and implement solutions to complex applications problems, perform systems management and integration, improve existing systems, and review system capabilities, workflow, and schedule limitations.

The Role
Your Responsibilities will include:
• Ensuring all standards and procedures are followed and maintained.
• Designing, maintaining, and supporting the network infrastructure.
• Monitoring system performance and ensuring reliability and availability.
• Recommending infrastructure solutions to meet business requirement in compliance with IT policy & procedure.
• Providing Level 2 to 3 support and troubleshooting as and when required.
• Analysing, monitoring, configuring, and maintaining existing systems and identify room for improvements.
• Ensuring overall system and server uptime, availability, reliability, and security.
• Liaising with 3rd party vendors, IT providers, etc. for specific requirements.
• Troubleshooting system/server issues or outages.
• Configuration, installation, maintenance and lifecycles planning of various network devices and services (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN etc..).
• Assist in developing WAN infrastructure solutions that meet or exceed business performance expectations.
• Keeping updated, accurate and reliable backups of application and databases.

Additional Information:
• Will be stationed in our Dubai Office, and will help to support Global Offices users in Switzerland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and Thailand
• Willing to work extended hours if needed
• Will be part of the Global Alpadis IT Team and will report to Alpadis Head of Group IT based in Singapore

Salary:
AED 8,000 to 11,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

Skills Required:
• You possess a Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• You have at least 7 years’ experience, ideally within a System Administrator, Helpdesk / Technical Support or Network Engineer / Systems Engineer role.
• You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Expertise in LAN, VPN, WAN, Firewalls, Database Backup & Recovery, Cloud Computing, Data Maintenance, Database Design, Database Installation, Upgrade & Migration, Network & Security Assessment, Patch Management, Performance Tuning & Diagnostics and Reliability would be highly valuable.
• You are familiar with Android OS, IOS OS and Windows operating systems.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft SQL databases.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Cloud Services - Azure, M365, Intunes, etc.
• You possess one or more CompTIA Network+, ITIL, MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) and MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) certifications.
• You are a strong team player who can manage multiple stakeholders
• You possess strong analytical skills
• You pay strong attention to detail and deliver work that is of a high standard
