VMware Engineer - Level 3

Job description / Role

This role is a hands-on VMware Level 3 Engineer, playing a crucial role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our VMware clusters and ESXi environments.

Description

* Administer, install, configure, and patch VMware clusters and ESXi environments.
* Manage and optimize virtualized infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to VMware technologies.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable virtualization solutions.
* Monitor and analyze system performance to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
* Develop and maintain documentation for VMware systems, configurations, and procedures.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
* Participate in on-call support rotation and address critical incidents promptly.

* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a VMware Level 3 Engineer.
* Based in the United Arab Emirates, and ability to start as soon as possible.
* Experience managing a minimum of 1500 VMs in a production environment.
* Proven experience in the administration, installation, configuration, and patching of VMware clusters and ESXi environments.
* Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex issues in a timely manner.
* In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies, including VMware vSphere and related tools.
* Excellent scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, etc.) for automation tasks.
* Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP) are highly desirable.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
